Featuring a 13MP rear camera with flash, Sony Exmor IMX214 Sensor, f/2.0 aperture, AF  and also a 5MP front unit. so looking at the numbers, the camera quality won’t disappoint you. Running on Android 5.0.2 with Obi’s own UI, the Lifespeed UI- it certainly ain’t the device running on the latest version of Android, already running two upgrades late of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Battery capacity is rated at 3000 mAh Li-Po so, it’ll take you through a day of moderate use. 

The brand comes straight from Silicon Valley, co-founded by former head of Apple and Pepsi, It becomes compelling for it to deliver what is being expected of it, but the brand comes from a troubled past of making unhealthy partnerships in India and not being able to drive a great deal of consumer attention. 

PRICING

The SF1 launch might be taken as their new start in India, with a great design the smartphone looks and feels amazing, with the hardware we are sure that it has all the ingredients of a mid-level smartphone, but with the pricing does’t seem to agree with us- you’ll have to pay 11,999 for 2GB RAM/16GB storage and 13,999 for 3GB RAM/32GB storage. 

VERDICT

And at this price we already have better smartphones like Mi4, Asus Zenfone 2 etc with better hardware specifications and are already in the hands of  thousands of people who absolutely love them. Why it is that someone will be willing to give a relative new company a chance for more or less the same price? We give this smartphone a Kick and expect the company to price their products aggressively in the future.

Mi Band Pulse is heavier than the original Mi Band, as it stands at 5.5g whereas the original wearable stood at 5g and thicker than the previous-gen band by 0.9mm. Yeah, these might not mean such heavy differences but we’ve got to keep the geeks happy, right?

Battery is the same 45mAh unit that we have talked about on numerous occasions on how efficient it is to give a backup of 40+ days coupling up with really power efficient modules- military grade accelerometer and gyroscope and a very coherent power switcher.

Pulse will go on sale in China first, then will later roll out to other countries as well, priced at CNY 99 which roughly translate into 1,030INR or 16$. Chinese release date is set to 11 November, and we hope to see this in India in a month or so.

The wearable is upgraded with a Optical Heart Rate sensor and better construction material at the same price tag of 15$ which seems to be a very good effort from the company to maintain loyalty following. Looking at the value that we get at 15$, this is a pick from our side, it buys you a hear rate, steps, sleep tracker also capable of notifying you of incoming calls and alarms. Why would you not take it?

The device is aimed as a mid-range offering, but just the right amount of specifications and firepower to keep you going on and on with multitasking and gaming of all kinds. The best thing in my opinion is the device built- Aluminium unibody casing and the solid built, and yeah it looks like the design is somewhat stolen from a big name, ring any bells?

Another feature that I am excited about is the inclusion of a fingerprint sensor, which is getting standard for a smartphone in this era of mobile computing. The device however would let us down on the Screen Resolution as it has 5.0 inch FHD screen, which could have at least been a 2k in the times of 4k screens, but HTC probably saved some extra bucks on manufacturing and final price to the consumer.

Housing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617, 2/3GB RAM variants depending upon the storage options you choose from 16/32GB. Storage can be expanded to, wait for it, 2TB! What? Yes. If you manage to lay your hands on a MicroSD Card of- say 2TB then, you can, by all means enjoy that on your brand new HTC One A9.

Camera

Camera has always been a bit of concern for HTC, with the HTC One A9 they have decided to go for a 4MP UltraPixel front camera which will team up to give you a better low light selfies, for the Rear Camera we have 13MP unit with Optical Image Stabilization, autofocus and dual-LED flash.

But, the battery seems to be it’s weakest spot, with just 2150mAh you really can’t hope this to power you all day but, the company has claimed that the battery is capable of a 12 hour of video playback. We’ll see HTC, we’ll see.

Also the company has pushed Quick Charge 2.0 with a software upgrade coming just around sometime to make it to QuickCharge 3.0. Which will make sure that you will always have the fastest charging speeds available.

Design Explanation

On the design thing, one of the HTC executive came up and said that they did not steal any design, it was apple who copied their unibody aluminium design that was introduced with their older flagship, the HTC One M7 .

Conclusion 

The device feels right in the sub 400$ category, with mid-range specs and solid-premium design that we don’t really see at this price range. HTC can’t do any more justice at this price, so if you are looking for a smartphone which feels premium but doesn’t cost like much, you ought to give this smartphone a try.

For Indian users, this might be out in india soon as HTC’s Diwali inclusion and would cost around 24,000INR, which is a price worth considering it for.

Although, the elder one- A6000 is still to receive the same update and looking at both smartphone’s hardware, it should not take too long.
