We all remember the public humiliation that Apple faced when it’s flagship smartphone, the iPhone 6 Plus allegedly showed signs of ‘bending’ on various occasions under stress. And what followed was not entirely humane, people from all over the world started mocking Apple– Even companies like Sony and Nokia went ahead and publicly ridiculed the company for doing a great job.
And, we see a similar, yet-different hardware deformity on the Note 5.
So what is it?
Problem seems to be with the recent enhancement the company has done with S Pen, adding a clicking mechanism to the rear which pops it right out when someone clicks it. The problem seems to be that the S-Pen must not be inserted from the click module-in, when inserted from the click in, it gets stuck– badly. (Picture above shows exactly how it gets stuck)
If you really care about your device, don’t you even try.
Getting your stylus stuck inside your smartphone isn’t a good idea, only when you had the choice of buying a S6 Edge Plus, but you didn’t because you wanted that S Pen. Make the habit, or pay the bill.
What Samsung can do?
The first and the best thing Samsung can do now, is to publicly acknowledge that the device has a hardware issue, hiding behind ‘it’s a consumer issue‘ is going to make things worse.
Also the company should declare within its warranty network to address the issue as their top priority because this thing if caused too much pain, can hinder Note 5 sale’s and with Samsung’s sales this year, the company wouldn’t want that.
Samsung should also try issue warnings, like on the product boxes, in the System UI and at any other place people are prone to notice and refrain from committing the mistake themselves.
