The Mountain-view giant just announced that another update for Google chrome would be available on the Stable Channel. This update is huge considering the fact that this update is the last update for Ice Cream Sandwich and also that It brings some new implementations.
Update includes site update notification and it makes adding web pages to your home screen even easier, well what does it means? It aims at giving chrome the ability to directly cast notification to your notification bar, like games and apps do all the time but this time it comes from the website you are viewing and not by chrome itself, but this too has security precautions as you’ll be prompted when any website asks permission for pushing notification.
For the Adding web pages to home screen part, now every time you visit a good website and by good website we mean a fully equipped WebApp capable website on chrome- it will by itself ask you if you want to add it to your home screen or not. The fact that you’ll not always be prompted when you run a capable site is quite confusing but there are some guidelines that the browser follows and according to that the prompting occur.
You’ll be prompted if you visit the same site twice with the condition that the gap of consecutive visit must not be larger than a week. If you ever discard a prompt it won’t appear again until you clear local data.
This was all that will come in the latest update to Chrome v42, if you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments section below or through social media.
