Whatsapp Enhances Backup with New Update

After voice calling feature, WhatsApp rolled out Material Design update to their instant messaging app and now it has quietly rolled out another update that will escalate your backup options to Google Drive.

Developers at WhatsApp are working on full swing.

This feature will help you to securely save all your WhatsApp backups in case if you lose your smartphone or it get damaged. This backup option backups all your conversations with image files- no videos support just yet. It might be because video files would take much longer time to get uploaded on your Drive.

WhatsApp Backup To Google Drive

It looks like developers at Facebook have started working on WhatsApp (JK). WhatsApp developers have rolled on many features since the last month- includes Web Client (web.whatsapp.com), Voice Calling, new material design and now an enhanced backup option.

Note: Once you start the backup you cannot turn it off, until and unless you switch the device off. To be more careful use Wi-Fi for the upload to refrain getting charged for Mobile Data. Make sure you have sufficient data on Google Drive and then upload. It can take a few hours depending upon your internet speed. Mine showed 570MB data and took 3hours.
