VLC for Android Updated : Delayed Audio, Background playback and more

Popular Video Player VLC is now updated on the Google play store, this update brings a variety of new features such as the ability to play videos in the background, updated animations-material like animations in the app, a new file browser and also some back-end features that include hardware acceleration for TS and updated codes. Furthermore the Developers now say that the app will be more fluid and intuitive, carrying forward the Open-source media player’s saga.

VLC now supports the background playback for video. Audio Delay control is also activated.

There is a new look in the audio player, in the side bar, a new Album View, an improved search behavior, more Lollipop effects, a simplified the video player controller and a new file browser.

On the backend, we fixed hardware acceleration for TS files, we support audio scrobblers, fixed SD cards browsing, added better logging and updated codecs.

This Player is one of the most trusted and downloaded cross-platform Media Players with volunteering developers and modders all over the world.
