Samsung came up with their own scrolling screenshots on Note 5 and included it in new S7 and S7 Edge. You can also get the same functionality by using third-party applications, such as Stitch and Share.

What “stitch to share” does is that it automatically stitches your screenshots line by line so that you get a running image of the conversation, just like below:

The best part is the automated process where you don’t have to manually select all the images (you can though) and then ask the app to stitch it. Let’s walk through the process:

Download and Install the Application.

Begin taking screenshots of the conversation, keeping in mind that the last line of the first screenshot should be the first of the upcoming screenshot. (refer image below)

Check your Notification Bar for a prompt from the application titled “Screenshot Stitched”. (refer image below)

If you don’t get a notification, open the app, tap “add screenshot” and select your screenshots from the selector.

Adjust the screenshots according to your need, now you have a scrolling screenshot.

This post will focus on two methods to achieve data usage management, the bottom line being :

Understanding which apps uses the most data :

This can be done via Data Usage Settings, which gives us necessary statistics about data usage on our smartphone. Apps like Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Vine are some of the most data demanding applications in our android ecosystems, however you cannot save data on all of them (methods detailed below) because some them already compress data before sending you.

Taking Steps to restrict unnecessary usage :

In this post you will find two methods that you can use to restrict your data usage, and yes, both are non-root. One uses Opera Max, and another uses Android’s built in data usage management dashboard to help you determine ad restrict data access.

However, I recommend using Opera Max, because it also compresses data before it reaches you so you end up saving 40-50% data, you can expect a minimum savings of 20% and when on a limited data plan 20% is a considerable amount.

Below you will find both methods:

Method 1 (Non-Root)

This method uses Opera Max (third-party Application) to save you 30-50% on your data usage on your smartphone, this uses a complex compression algorithm to compress any incoming data to smaller packets to make sure that you get the same quality content at less bandwidth expense.

1) Download Opera Max

2) Open it and Run through the Setup guide

3) Now Click on Connect to Opera Max Cloud

4) On Allow Connection Dialogue box, click OK.

5) Now Opera Max will start saving your data.

6) To block certain apps, swipe left and click on App Management.

7) Once there swipe right-to Mobile Access

8) Now Tap on Apps you want to block internet access to and they won’t be able to access the internet.

Done!

Alternate Method (Non-Root Method)

This method uses android’s built in data management utility and will tone down your internet usage and will control data access to all applications. This will only give access to the current on-screen application so you can use any app using this.

1) Go to Settings.

2) Go to Data Usage.

3) Click on Menu Button/Option Key/3 Dots, Click on “Restrict Background Usage”

4) Click on OK.

After these steps, only onscreen applications can use the Internet, other background applications like Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp cannot access the Internet unless you explicitly open the app.

Background:

Browsing through XDA-Applications section, I found an application called SuperTouch, which claimed to enhance touch responsiveness, decreasing delay and improve dragging inputs by adjusting and enhancing android’s native finger tracking service. 

Looking at the post, I made my mind up that it was just another link-bait I got myself into, claiming achievements that were too good to be true, but still decided to give it a try. 

Impressions:

Installed the application, made it through the setup guide, locked points to 1520 something- as it was recommended for devices having a FHD resolution, waited 4 minutes, yes, the process took 4 long minutes, and I didn’t really experience a thing. Same, still the same. 

Somewhere between the setup guide, there was a tip to reboot device to see effects and so that was exactly what I did and then, I saw a significant jump in finger tracking, increased touch response and sliding, dragging improvements. 

Conclusion and Review:

I was surprised to see the results, though it won’t make your device lag-less, or help you multitask, you’ll see results when you swipe between home-screens, drag icons in and out of drawer, out of nowhere you’ll notice tiny-tiny improvements, totally making it worth it. App’s only 3MB something, so won’t hog up your already scare resources, but will surely make up for that negligible storage loss.

How to Set Up SuperTouch?

 To setup SuperTouch, follow the guide below :

1. Install Apk from the google play, link below. Or just search Super Touch.
2. Make through the startup guide.
3. Select Optimisation Level according to your screen (move the slider), set the level as per your device’s screen resolution- check with the startup guide.
4. Let it work it’s magic. (It can take some several minutes)
5. Reboot.
6. See the magic.

Procedure:

1. Open and Extract Platform Tools, Remember the directory the files are extracted in.
2. Transfer the SuperUser Package to your Mi 4i Smartphone.
3. Install Fastboot drivers.
4. Go to the Developer Menu and enable USB DEBUGGING.
   
5. Put your smartphone in fastboot mode (Press Volume Down + Power Key)
6. Now, Extract the Recovery.img from the Zip in Step 3 and place it in the directory you extracted Platform Tools in the Step 1.
7. While in the directory, press SHIFT + Right Click and Click on Open Command Window here.
