App Review : Fling – Message The World

There it goes, our first Application review. So, there is an app named Fling, that caught my eye yesterday for its uniqueness- the app is fun to use, social app that does something very original, a new concept but the way it is implemented makes me think of it as a snapchat ripoff. More on that in a bit. The app has reached 500,000 – 1,000,000 installs mark on the Google play store and the app has earned 3.2 as overall rating.

Fling App : Introduction

Fling App : Introduction

Comming to the app, basically it lets you click a picture, record a video or type a message which then it sends to 50 people all over the world, and the phenomenon is called as sending a fling.  Sounds pretty amazing, but the app is somewhat more social than that. Once we get a fling from any person we can send a reply and thus we can create a social network out of the people we interact with. The thing we should keep in mind that currently we cannot reach to a particular person until the system approaches us with a fling of that person.

The concept remind us of the fairly popular social-messaging app snapchat, as you have to hold onto the screen to see the image or the text that is sent to you. We don’t know if this is just for securing the chat or its just a way of interaction but it is to be duly noted that the chats are not self destructing, so proceed with caution if you are trying to see it as a snapchat alternative.
