My Passport, External Hard Drive brand of Western Digital, has two new inclusion in the list with redesigned version of two hard drives coming up, having 1TB and 2TB capacity, the ultra portable hard drives are redesigned using a complete new plastic built, Colour Options include Black, White, Electric Blue and Raspberry Red, offering 3 years of limited regional warranty, with USB 3.0 compatibility that will increase the transfer speed upto 5GB/s, isn’t that high?
Hard Drives are priced at Rs 4750 & Rs 7550 for 1TB & 2TB capacity Respectively.
Both the drives will also be backward compatible with USB 2.0 to avoid any compatibility issues, taking in mind budget Indian PC- many of those who still have no USB 3.0 ports.
The drive will also include a backup software that will help users to generate automated backups of their PC’s important documents and files (keeping the storage constrains in mind), to avoid any loss due to the internal hard drive failure or anything of that such that can result in loss of important documents.
Company’s officials came up on the launching to aware us of the data use and how the company’s portable hard drives can help by being a reliable storage.
What do you guys think of the company’s attempt to crowd the already crowded market of External Hard drives? We already have many companies and many models to choose from and however WD is well know brand, still we can get a 1TB External Hard drive below Rs 4000 from known brands like Seagate, Toshiba, Transcend and many more.
