Direct Messages are important to twitter, you see everything you do on twitter is public- tweets, retweets and favorites. Right from your following to followers, everything is visible. That is why DM’s are important- it gives you a private thing to do.
Twitter has updated us with a service that now would let you DM anyone or everyone. Even if they are not following your or you are not following the. To start this feature you’ll have to head to here and follow the steps to make sure that the service is enabled on your account.
This feature will be rolled on to the android client in the coming of time- no official confirmation though that the feature will added in a server side update or an application update but as soon as we get any information we’ll let you know. We expect to see some UI changes too- DM buttons on profiles and Switch for turning this feature ON or OFF.
We are sure that this is a very good attempt to establish twitter as a more User-Friendly social network and eradicating that restrictive approach that they have been carrying from quite some time now.
